703 - Submission Outline

After look at the submission criteria for the 703 unit, I decided to create a breakdown of the work I would be submitting to achieve the outcomes, as my project falls within the negotiated outcomes bracking the work I submit will be different to what is outlines in the specification.

I considered the work that I would submit and after speaking with my tutor to confirm what I will submit to achieve the criteria, the following is a breakdown of the three pieces of work:

  1. Pitch Bible - Written chapter for a PhD proposal or conference paper chapter on methodology.

  1. Research record - Written blog of all work - Refine this down at the end to a new webpage (project Map) with links to blogs where needed, also PDF blog for submission.

  1. Animatic - A record of tests, this could be a showreel of the test outcomes, or a recording of work on the tests or at worst the files of the tests - images from these tests will be recorded on the blog with notes. Practical tests to include:

  • 360 camera test - materials, dice tower - capture footage and put into after effects and the VR.

  • 3D scan test - test 3D camera on Wacom mobile studio, capture dice tower, puppet or toy, materials tests

  • Photogrammetry test - Capture dice tower in photogrammetry, using canon, agisoft metashape, then put captured footage into 3D, or after effects and VR.

  • Create practical materials test board - Foam board or blackboard to mount, attach fabrics, shiny, textures, latex, silicone, reflective,

  • Extra - Create a table in 3D, and add photogrammetry scans of different materials to it. These materials that most people know and would know what they feel like such as slime, velvet, metal etc. Put this in VR. This is to test visual haptics, even though the audience can't touch the object, can they still feel them through the use of visual haptics can they feel like they know what the objects would feel like even touch they can't touch them?

Ofter looking at this along with my plan, I must start conducting practical tests in week 7 in order to achieve the practical outcomes, this work will be tight and I may not have time to complete all the tests, but it is important to begin the testing at this stage in preparation for the next unit and stage of the project.
