Interim Crit

For the interim crit, I presented my work to the group and discussed where I currently am in the project. Below is the presentation and the video showing the practical development work so far.

Speaker Notes: What am I using to conduct tests? Document process Methods MA -action research, reflective practice (reflective practitioner, Donald Schon) find one for haptics (maker and object) Methodologies - has to come from theory, embodied memories, possibly presence theory - has to be able to filter through methods.

Speaker Notes: No existing examples of practical work like this, testing if embodied memories from stop motion animation make virtual reality experiences more immersive, adding an additional immersive element to VR. at the min all about the practice and how nothing exist of it, but also a gap in theory about embodied memory. Relationship between theory and practice and they inform each other nicely, how do they inform each other. Be aware of how they are doing this

Speaker Notes: Goals: To create a fully haptic, interactive, immersive virtual reality experience that is created using the combination of stop motion animation and 3D. That would be taken by a studio and advanced so that it could be distributed to the general public, along with a completed PhD.

Speaker Notes: Aims: Create a fully functioning pipeline, create a series of test pieces, learn and test new software, create a full environment, story and characters, create professional contacts, market the idea, have a PhD proposal, PhD course place, complete MA program, disseminate the research - link to portfolio, con paper, how to present it

Overall I think this presentation went very well, it allowed me to present my ideas and progress concisely as well as demonstrate that I am able to present all the ideas and theories in my work to an audience of peers. 

The video with the stages of development worked really well and I think that this is a method that I will use if I present my work at conferences I will also use this to create a showreel type video of my work.
